My family moved to Southsea in 2016 and my youngest daughter, Zoë, joined Mary Rose Academy in year 10.
Since having children, I have volunteered and worked in various roles within schools, ranging from dinner lady to teaching assistant and supporting pupils with additional needs. I also joined the governing body of my children’s infant school in West Berkshire.
My interest in becoming a parent governor at Mary Rose stems from an interest in finding out more about how Mary Rose succeed in bringing out the best in every child and preparing them for life after they leave education. I hope to get involved with every aspect of governance and be able to lend a parental perspective to making decisions.
