Danielle Fox
Head of Learning for 6th Form

A little bit about your background and experience

I began my teaching career in 2002 as a main stream English teacher in Secondary schools in Hampshire. I became a second in department and also was a head of department for some time before changing direction and heading towards special needs in 2016. New to the field, I became the teacher of Discovery class at Mary Rose Academy. Shortly after I became head of learning for key stage 3 and I am now in my second year as head of learning for sixth form. I love my role in sixth form and have enjoyed being part of our students final preparations for adulthood and supporting their parents in this important transition.

Hobbies and interests

I live in Portsmouth with my 11 year old daughter and my cat. We love getting out and about and enjoying the beautiful place we live. I enjoy going to see live music and festivals and travelling back up north and to Spain to see my family during the summer.

What you enjoy about working at your school

Working at Mary Rose is such a delight. The staff are the most hardworking I have ever come across and the student’s needs are always priority. I enjoy coming to work, it’s challenging yet rewarding at the same time. I especially love sixth form as we are always out and about in the community learning skills needed for later in life.
