Hannah Richardson
Assistant Headteacher – 6th Form

A little bit about your background and experience

This is my tenth year working for the Solent Academies Trust and no year has ever been the same. I joined Mary Rose Academy as Head of PE and Sport. During my time in this role we developed our Sports College Status with the Youth Sports Trust by becoming a Platinum School, Project Ability Hub and the first SEND Watersports Hub in the country. I have had the privilege in being part of national development work for PE and Sport which I have seen being implemented over the years.

For the past 8 years I have also work closely with local universities to support Physical Education and Coaching training specifically around inclusion and adapted sports

I have also had the chance to work at all our Academies giving me the opportunity to support all our pupils in the Trust with a range of needs.

Hobbies and interests

I am married with a son and an adventurous dog called DJ. DJ helps us all get outdoors no matter what the weather and we love it. Beach days are my favourite where we can get the paddle board out and drift to another world.

What you enjoy about working at your school

No day is ever the same and the pupils and students at Mary Rose Academy never fail to put a smile on my face. I particularly love seeing the students come through 6th Form, leaving us with independence and aspirations for their future.
