A little about myself

I enjoy living near the sea. I am married with 3 almost grown up kids, a dog and cat and two tortoises. I enjoy going for a run along the seafront or up over the hills of the South Downs to keep fit and healthy, as this means I can also indulge my love of vegetarian cooking too!

What excites me about my role

I love working with the children here at Mary Rose Academy, there is always something to smile, laugh or celebrate every day as the children learn and grow. The team here are a joy to work with as everyone really does give of their best all the time to make sure the children have the opportunity to achieve everything that they are capable of and be their best.

I have been at Cliffdale first as head of learning for lower school, then as assistant head which helped me to fulfil my role now as Headteacher at Mary Rose. I also enjoy supporting other children with SEN across Portsmouth through the PSENSP outreach service and as a Specialist Leader of Education. I have enjoyed supporting staff to constantly develop and learn new skills and I am always learning from the team as we share ideas together about how to make learning exciting and fun for our children.
