I began my teaching career in 2001 in a Primary mainstream school in West Sussex. I moved to Portsmouth in 2010 and joined Mary Rose School to pursue my passion to work with and make a difference to the learning and development of pupils with special educational needs. I have been on Mary Roses leadership team since 2011.
I love to travel and have been very fortunate to have had many inspiring travelling experiences, both independently and with others – ranging from back packing up the East coast of Australia to exploring the Californian coast and the Garden Route of South Africa. I have recently purchased a 1989 campervan with which I now plan to see more of the world on wheels.
What excites you about your role within the Academy?
I am hugely passionate about the entitlement all young people have to education. Mary Rose Academy strives to make a difference through facilitating effective and inclusive learning opportunities for all pupils to unlock their full potential. Our class teams are challenged to continually question, trial and develop their own teaching and learning strategies to ensure learning is personalised and meets the needs of our pupils and students.
Every day is a new day at Mary Rose and it is such a privilege to work in such a motivating and forward thinking school.
