This year 6th Form students have been celebrating Harvest through a social enterprise project.
This year 6th Form students have been celebrating Harvest through a social enterprise project and supporting the RHS Big Soup Share.
Students in Sowers and Growers have been harvesting crops from the allotment. Garlic, onions, carrots, tomatoes, potatoes, pumpkins to name a few. After harvesting they have research soup recipes.
This week the students have made spiced pumpkin, leek and potato and pea and mint soups.
Along side the soups they have also made fresh bread rolls.
In total the students made 14 litres of soup which they donated to the Lifehouse Church in Albert Road who serve hot meal throughout the week to rough sleepers.
6th Form's social enterprise project continues for the remainder of this term with the Pebbles Beachhut Cafe making sweet treats for the Lifehouse and 6th Form students volunteering at the Foodbank collecting and sorting the donations.
6th Form celebrated Harvest by baking for the Lifehouse.
Students made a cheese and herb Harvest sharing loaf, scones and bread and butter pudding.
The students researched where flour originates from and looked into different bread recipes.
We will be delivering our Harvest contributions to the Lifehouse to share with the community.
