Rio day was an exciting time for Food Studies. A taste of Asia came to the Food Studies room, with the tables being adorned with genuine Asian artwork. There was an banquet of different foods for the pupils to try. The Thai curry being a firm favourite with the pupils and the staff!
A great day was had by all with a fabulous start meeting in the hall to board the aeroplane. The three 6th From classes then went off to different activities. Widley started in duty free! The students really enjoyed testing all the different perfumes, drinks and jewellery. It is safe to say that they exceeded their duty limit! They then jetted off to the jungle and met lots of different reptiles including a massive corn snake.
Key Stage two had a great time taking part in Rio day. We took a flight in assembly around the world, we visited Asia, Africa, Europe, USA and Australia. Octopus had the opportunity to explore the Alps where they had hot chocolate, met the mountain dog Nakita, enjoyed fondue and bounced on the castle! Shark class met the Panda in Asia, then went surfing in the USA and got to taste a variety of food, yummy! Seahorse also loved having a big bounce on the castle!
This week in assembly Mary Rose celebrated St George’s Day. We started off with a fantastic performance from pupils in Wembley class who acted out the story of George and the dragon. This was set against a backdrop from a sleepy Old English village, the pupils had made some great costumes and I’m pleased to say they managed to protect the villagers from the menacing dragon. The short play focused on the importance of friendship and helping others within the community.
