During Friday’s assembly we held a contest for classes to design a hat for Alison for her trip to meet the Queen on 28th Feb to receive her OBE. Each class entered at least one hat for Alison to try on, these were then shortlisted for pupils to choose the winner. The hats were extremely creative and showcased the talents of our pupils perfectly! We had lots of hats based on the school logo, one had ten clues about Alison hidden inside, one had a poem to read and some were very sensory with lots to touch, smell and hear! The three shortlisted hats with a short description were: Discovery – The class had used each pupil’s photograph, included as part of a 3d wire rose sculpture. Seahorses – Ten sensory roses of all sizes, shapes and textures presented in a golden presentation box. Adventure – Stylist and elegant felt hat with a side decoration in school colours. The three hats were voted for by pupils using a ‘clapometer’. (Whichever hat got the most noisy reception won!) The final positions were: 1st - Adventure Class 2nd – Seahorse Class 3rd – Discovery Class Well done everyone, we look forward to seeing the photos from the palace!
