Rio day was an exciting time for Food Studies. A taste of Asia came to the Food Studies room, with the tables being adorned with genuine Asian artwork. There was an banquet of different foods for the pupils to try. The Thai curry being a firm favourite with the pupils and the staff!
There was a Sushi making workshop and there was some great displays of rolling the seaweed by the pupils, not so great from the staff who stuffed far too much filling into their rolls! Some were a little heavy handed with the Wasabi sauce and soon began to regret that, dashing for a glass of water!
Meanwhile in another part of the school a continental breakfast feast was taking place to represent Europe hosted by a lovely looking French chef (our own Jackie Galloway). There was a vast selection of different European meats, cheeses, bread and fruit for the pupils and once again the staff who don’t like to be missed out, to tuck into! The pupils also had a turn at shaping their own croissants and making brioche toast. A great time was had by all and everyone went home with full stomachs!
