Pioneer have had an amazing term and there is more amazingness to come! Students were very fortunate to be able to access the Fort Purbrook facility for a block of problem solving and team building. Students had a great time and as if that wasn’t enough, this block has been followed by a half term of kayaking at North Harbour lakes. In their other PE lessons with Paul and Amber on a Friday, students have been working hard to learn about training plans and fitness.
They have applied this understanding by doing some super work outs in the Pioneer gym! Our Pioneer entrepreneurs have been hard at work and money has been rolling in for our staff car washing service and in our revamped Balcony Bags charity shop. The charity shop is now open every Tuesday from 11am to 3pm – so please feel free to visit us and spread the word. We have been astounded by the volume and quality of donations we have received, meaning we have great quality stock and amazing bargains!!! The final half term will very much have the focus of concluding all of our work on different accreditations, dotting the I’s and crossing the t’s, to make sure everyone ends up with a hatful of wonderful certificates. Our other main focus will be transition to next steps, be that moving onto college, work placements or a final year at Pioneer. Portsmouth College have put together a fantastic programme of them visiting us, followed by Pioneer students travelling to their centre every Friday to do some activities and get a real flavour of college life.
What else is there to come………… Rock Challenge finals take 2, end of year prom and much more!!
