This week in assembly the pupils at Mary Rose celebrated Burns Night. Together we found out about Scottish beliefs and the story of Robert Burns.
We explored a range of Scottish cultural traditions and enjoyed keeping fit by demonstrating the Highland Fling, we also spent some time looking for the Lock Ness monster. As with all good celebrations we enjoyed a feast! This included Haggis and potatoes, the smell in the hall was wonderful. It’s traditional for someone playing the Bagpipes to ‘pipe in’ the Haggis before it can be eaten. We waited patiently listening to the Bagpipes before tucking in.
