Christmas 2015 – A real celebration!

Christmas 2015 – A real celebration!

The Christmas celebrations at Mary Rose have been a great success! We have had a very exciting week packed with lots of activities and events. Our Secondary department led us through their carol concert on Tuesday.

Our Secondary department led us through their carol concert on Tuesday. The theme this year was ‘Christmas around the world’. The pupils took us on a magical journey experiencing Christmas through different cultures using a range of song, music, light and food. It was a great showcase of the talent our pupils have.

The Primary Christmas Show was on Wednesday. This year the show was based on the book Jesus’ Christmas Party by Nicholas Allan. The story involves a range of different people visiting an Innkeeper the night before a baby was born. The pupils took on their roles brilliantly. We had shepherds, kings, angels, animals, villagers and even the paparazzi visit the Innkeeper. All of the pupils worked hard during their rehearsals and looked great on stage! We had over 100 visitors to both performances, we hope you all enjoyed the show.

Our Christmas lunch on Thursday was delicious!! A big thank you to our wonderful kitchen team. We tucked into turkey with all the trimmings while listening to carols and enjoying time with friends. Thursday afternoon was the Mary Rose Pantomime. The panto this year was called Knight Fever! The staff team have been rehearsing hard for weeks and put on a show the pupils really enjoyed. There were some very interesting costumes, particularly from Dame Dorris.

Have a great Christmas everyone, see you in 2016.
