Grandparents Assembly!!

Grandparents Assembly!!

We celebrated ‘Grandparents Day’ by inviting in pupil’s grandparents to join us in assembly. We had great fun meeting them all, finding out the oldest, youngest, who had the most grandchildren and some of the names that their grandchildren like to call them.

Grandparents day assembly

We celebrated ‘Grandparents Day’ by inviting in pupil’s grandparents to join us in assembly. We had great fun meeting them all, finding out the oldest, youngest, who had the most grandchildren and some of the names that their grandchildren like to call them.

The pupils had made cards and had the opportunity to give these to their grandparents or take them home to give later.

We sang a lot of songs including a new song just for grandparents. This is sung to the tune of ‘happy birthday’ and has the words below. We finished with a good old fashioned ‘knees up’ which had everyone, (young and more experienced), on the dance floor together.

Our grandparents song

A warm welcome to you,

From your number one fans,

To grandmothers and grandmas,

And grannies and grans,

Good afternoon to you,

From your number one fans,

To nannies and nannas,

Great grandmas and nans,

A warm welcome to you,

Cos we think you’re the champs,

To grandfathers and grandpas,

And grampies and gramps,

Good afternoon to you,

We think you’re the tops,

To grandads and grandpas,

Great grandads and pops,
