In October Key Stage three classes held a two celebration of all things French. Pupils and staff were immersed in French language, cuisine and culture and great fun was had by all.
A selected group of lucky pupils travelled to Southsea to experience an authentic Parisian café at Cheers and Cheese. Pupils had a great time tasting difference breads, cheeses and vintages of apple juice.
Modern Foreign Language days allow all subjects to take on a French twist and so pupils found themselves: performing as French mimes in Drama, creating Matisse inspired works of Art, cooking madeleines, investigating the stages of matter when melting cheese in Science, investigating moustaches in maths, building Eiffel towers out of clay, cheese and even marshmallows as well as performing ‘Heads Shoulders Knees and toes in French in a kayaking during P.E. amongst many other activities.
The two day celebration culminated in a key stage 3 assembly where pupils were able to share their work with their friends and sing enthusiastically to some of their favourite songs; in French of course! Did you know “Let it Go” in French the version is “Liberee”?
