During our assembly this week we talked about New Years resolutions and how they were a promise to ourselves to get better at something. We had lots of fun experiencing ways in which we can keep our hearts, bodies and minds fit, healthy and happy. Annie helped Mel with one of her New Years resolutions, which was to getter better at using Makaton signs. Annie taught Mel, and the whole school, the signs for cup, spoon, yoghurt, fruit, porridge and snack. Kirsty was the next member of staff to share her New Years resolutions. As we all know Kirsty is a terrible dancer, so this year wants to get better. Also by dancing a lot her body is going to get fitter and healthier. She performed some tricky dance moves that she had been working on and we all helped her practice these to Gangnam Style. Lynne’s New Years resolution is to learn some new songs, as music and singing is one of her most favourite hobbies. This makes her feel happy and helps to keep her mind healthy. Lynne started to teach us all a new song she has been learning for Red Nose Day in March. Mel’s last New Years resolution is to eat more healthily, she shared a healthy, sugar free snack with everyone. We all had a cup, which we filled with yogurt, fruit and oats. It was delicious and set us up brilliantly for a healthy and happy weekend.
