It has been a very busy term for PE this term and pupils across the school have been working really hard to develop their individual and team skills and fitness.
In Key Stage 1 pupils have loved exploring the water and developing their water confidence. We have also enjoyed exploring our basic agility, balance and co-ordination completing different activities and challenges.
In Key Stage 2 we have been working towards developing our tracking skills and applying these skills during group games. We particularly enjoyed playing football splitting into two teams and tackling each other in order to win the ball! We have also had fun experiencing a rugby scrum on a crash mat with our peers and hitting targets in water polo!
Key Stage 3 have been swimming, taking part in Judo, Archery and other target games. Discovery and Adventure classes have also been working towards developing their gymnastics skills and are now exploring Free Running! Mayflower and Victory classes have enjoyed developing their confidence, communication and practical skills climbing at Fort Purbrook.
In Key Stage 4 Wembley class have been learning how to play Tennis. We have visited Portsmouth Tennis Centre several times and have been practicing both forehand and backhand strokes. Look out for us at Wimbledon this year!. In Basketball we have been learning how to dribble, pass and shoot… all on the move.
Groups from 6th Form have been swimming, experiencing a broad variety of leisure activities, including shooting, lazer quest, zumba and the green gym. Students have also been completing a RDA award when Horse riding at Fort Widley, and have just started to learn how to ‘Boulder’ at Red Spider Climbing Centre in Fareham which they loved and are real dare devils!
We have also taken part in lots of events including The Special Olympics, Indoor Athletics, Balls Skills Festival and the Panathlon!
A brilliant term!! Well done to everyone who has taken part and given their best efforts this term! Enjoy the Easter break!
