Today in assembly we spent time learning about Remembrance Day
Today in assembly we spent time learning about Remembrance Day and why people wear poppies. We thought about all of the people in the armed forces who work so hard for us. And we learned about why it is so important that people wear poppies to remember them and hold a silence every year.
We sat in a different way today so that everyone could become very quiet, and join in the ‘attention’ session where we watched and listed as we created a piece of visual art to help us remember.
Once that was completed, we listened to ‘The Last Post’ played on a bugle, and everyone took their time to sprinkle poppy petals and lay the poppies they had made.
Mary Rose became remarkably still as we all shared this special moment together.
