This week in assembly Mary Rose celebrated St George’s Day. We started off with a fantastic performance from pupils in Wembley class who acted out the story of George and the dragon. This was set against a backdrop from a sleepy Old English village, the pupils had made some great costumes and I’m pleased to say they managed to protect the villagers from the menacing dragon. The short play focused on the importance of friendship and helping others within the community.
Being a Patron Saint means that St George was setting us a good example to follow.
To celebrate St George’s battle with the dragon we had our own feast. We were able to taste and smell some of our favourite items from a British roast dinner. Yum!
