On Tuesday 17th September Upper Secondary had their Stunning Start to introduce the new topic - Space. All pupils rotated around activities and experiences to give them a taste of space.

Wimbledon class hosted a solar system sensory disco. Everyone had lots of fun doing silly dance moves to spaced themed songs from across the decades. A firm favourite was ‘Star Trekkin’, which staff and pupils alike enjoyed, and got their heart rate sky high!

Everyone got creative in Warrior classroom. Pupils investigated ways to make an artistic space scene. It was universally agreed, and especially by Martin, that flicking the paint to make stars was the most effective and the most fun!

Mayflower class hosted a fun and interesting experiment outside. We explored making bottles of Coke 'erupt' using Mentos and whether marshmallows had the same effect (they didn't). Victory class hosted launching a rocket, using air to propel it high into the atmosphere. Both opportunities allowed pupils to count down, follow movement and laugh a lot at the successfully launched rockets, and at those which were not as successful!!
