We were very lucky this year as the weather stayed kind and we continued our water sports sessions right up until the October half term.
Wembley showed great progress with their stand up paddle boarding with Harry and Beth standing up virtually every session. Turtles continued their Fun Fair topic by hooking ducks out of the lake while other groups used their map reading skill to locate hidden objects around the lake .The water even stayed warm enough for us to end the term on our now traditional game of skittles .
Our programme then moved to Fort Purbrook for our winter of OAA. Turtles , Wembley and Mayflower have been using the bouldering room to practise their traversing skills which is path finding and climbing along the climbing wall rather than up it. This is proving to be quite a challenge for some. Discovery have been taking part in archery sessions that concentrate on team games. We never realised just how competitive the Discovery staff are! Victory and KS4 Options group have been practising their target skills by taking part in Archery and Rifle shooting , who knew that Yi-Kwow would be such a sharp shooter especially with a rifle. Pioneer have been at Fort Widley for horse riding. There were some initial nerves from some when meeting the horses but by the end of the term they were riding horses around the training school independently.
