I hope that you all had a good summer break, enjoyed the good weather and had some quality time with your children. I’d like to extend a special welcome to all new pupils, parents and staff. This year Mary Rose is celebrating its 10th anniversary. We’ve started to plan a range of exciting birthday themed events for everyone to enjoy throughout the year.
These will range from working with visiting artists, whole school celebration days and of course occasions for parents and carers to come in and celebrate with us. We had two successful staff developments days before the pupils returned. This time was used to plan the anniversary activities, develop our Curriculum and focus on the elements of high quality teaching and learning. We were also joined by Richard Hirstwood from Hirstwood training who focused on the importance of sensory learning. This ran alongside first aid training, pool safety and Makaton workshops. A very busy couple of days.
I’d like to take this opportunity to thank our Site team who worked hard throughout the summer to ensure our school was looking at its best for when the pupils returned. We were very lucky to be supported by a team of volunteers from H&S Aviation who gave up their time and helped with a range of projects within school.
I look forward to seeing you in school soon and working with you throughout the year.
