On the 8th November Wimbledon and Mayflower classes were lucky enough to visit Winchester Science Centre and Planetarium. This was the perfect opportunity to put everything we have learnt about the solar system into practice.

We created rockets in a rocket making workshop and had rocket races across the ceiling. Our rocket making skills will need a little more practice before we make it all the way into space!

We had the chance to try on an astronauts space suit and experience how tricky it is fixing rockets with astronaut gloves on! We also managed to find our school on Google Earth and see what it looks like from above!

The highlight was the interactive planetarium show, we found it fascinating and really felt like we were flying through space visiting all the planets we have been learning about. The only problem was we didn’t want to come back down to earth!
